What’s Our Purpose

Role Overview

What you’ll be expected to do:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust healthcare data integration solutions, focusing on interoperability using HL7, FHIR, and SPMS services like SONHO, SClínico, Registo Nacional de Utentes, and Portal do Profissional.
• Implement and manage integration solutions using Apache Camel K, Mirth Connect, and other interoperability platforms.
• Develop and maintain APIs and services in Java and Python to facilitate seamless data exchange between systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and secure data exchange across various platforms.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and testing of interoperability solutions.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to integrate new services and features into our healthcare ecosystem.
• Manage and optimize data storage solutions, particularly with S3, to ensure the integrity and availability of healthcare data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve interoperability issues, ensuring reliable and secure data flows.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest healthcare interoperability standards and technologies, continuously improving our integration solutions.
• Collaborate with other talented engineers to drive interoperability excellence within the organization.
  
  

Core Skills

• Java Programming: Proficiency in Java, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Spring Framework: Experience with Spring, especially Spring Boot for building microservices.
• Apache Camel: Familiarity with Apache Camel for integration patterns, particularly in conjunction with Kafka.
• Apache Kafka: Strong experience with Kafka, including producing and consuming messages, configuring topics, and managing Kafka clusters.
• Asynchronous Programming: Understanding of asynchronous programming concepts and patterns, including event-driven architecture.
  
  

Additional Skills

• RESTful APIs: Experience in designing and developing RESTful web services that may interact with Kafka.
• Database Management: Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Testing Frameworks: Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, particularly for asynchronous code.
• Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes for deploying microservices.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

• Monitoring and Logging: Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana) to track Kafka performance and message flows.

What Is The Recruiting Process Like

• There is a first interview with your future manager and/ or seasoned team members to get to know you and to give you an overview of Promptly and of the job you are applying to
• Afterwards, you will undergo a technical assessment stage, in which you will work on a test task or solve a business case.
• In same exceptional cases, a third interview might take place. Don’t worry if this happens. It’s because we have a good opinion on you, but there might be something we still need to get clear
• Finally, you will get your offer, and hopefully you’ll accept it!
