Network Engineer

We are expanding our team in Newcastle and are searching for a talented Network Engineer who will support the team in Williamtown, as well as remote teams across Australia.


To qualify for this role, you must:

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics), or similar technical trade with foundation in IT, information systems and/or computing science
  • Experience managing and executing system enhancements and upgrades, including planning and execution
  • Extensive experience providing technical support to Defence ICT networks, infrastructure and/or simulator devices
  • Competent in performing system administration and systems integration duties
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office tool suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Minimum-security clearance of NV1


In addition, the following will be considered favourably:

  • Technical experience maintaining and configuring networks and domains
  • Knowledge of Defence distributed training networks, software protocols, data correlation and cyber-worthiness principles
  • Experience within Defence ICT environment, including domain and data management and migration
  • Display trusted independence, the ability to work independently or in small teams while reaching out for advice/guidance when required
  • Big-picture and solution-based thinking – articulating context to recommendations and briefs for Customer consideration
