About the role
The DevOps Engineer role is integral to the team that operates enterprise-wide infrastructure, platform, and tooling services. The responsibilities span our vast technology landscape across clouds, data centres, warehouses, and stores. The role will develop and promote unified platform engineering and technical delivery approaches.
This 3 month contract role reports to the Cloud & Platform Services Manager and works with internal team members, external vendors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery and operations
- Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, and implement solutions across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Proactively monitor and operate platform infrastructure solutions.
- Produce and maintain knowledge and technical resources for the delivery and operations of technology solutions.
- Contribute to the resolution, root cause analysis, and preventative measures of alerts and incidents.
Enablement and innovation
- Implement and maintain controls and processes to provide prompt feedback on quality.
- Administer and enhance tools for technical delivery and operations.
Qualifications and experience
To succeed in this role, a candidate will need:
- Experience with DevOps practices. They'll need hands-on experience of what does and doesn't work to succeed.
- A good knowledge of Cloud Engineering, particularly with Azure or GCP.
- A sound understanding of technical delivery tools such as Source Control Management (SCM) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
- A philosophy of lifelong learning. Technology is constantly changing, and so are we. The candidate will keep up with technology trends and explore new solution options through experimentation.
- An eagerness to learn and grow with others. We'll learn together and share our knowledge and experiences.
This is a 3 month contract role with the opportunity of extension.
