The opportunity

AtProtecht, we believe that the future of risk management is intelligent, adaptive, and AI-driven. As anAI Engineer at Protecht, your mission is toredefine how organizations manage riskby embedding intelligent, autonomous, and conversational AI capabilities into our enterprise platform,Protecht.ERM.

You will play a pivotal role indesigning and delivering next-generation AI featuresthat empower users to make smarter, faster, and safer decisions.

Located in our central Sydney office (hybrid work from home option available) and reporting to our Head of Business Delivery you will drive the delivery of AI projects across the business.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and engineers to define and deliver impactful AI use cases
• Architect and implement scalable Generative AI features, includingagentic workflows,conversational AI, andautonomous agents
• Integrate AI into our enterprise stack usingReactJS (frontend)andJava (backend)
• LeverageAWS Bedrockservices (Agents, Flows, Knowledge Bases, Guardrails, etc.) to build secure and compliant AI solutions
• Apply best practices inAI security, including mitigation of hallucinations, prompt injection, and bias
• Mentor engineers and champion excellence in AI development
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high-quality, maintainable code
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ yearsof hands-on experience in Generative AI and Agentic AI development
• 5+ yearsin commercial SaaS product development usingJava,ReactJS, and modern databases
• Deep knowledge ofRAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation),vector databases, andcustom embeddings
• Proficiency inprompt engineering,benchmarking, andAI performance optimization
• Strong understanding ofAI ethics,governance, andsecurity risksin enterprise environments
• Experience withLangChain,OpenAI APIs, or similar LLM frameworks (highly desirable)
• Familiarity withSpring Framework,Microservices,Kubernetes, andCI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Experience withBitbucket,DevOps, andcloud infrastructure
• Passion for solving complex problems and driving innovation in AI
• Tertiary qualifications inComputer Science,Information Systems, or related fields
