Your role within Disaster Resilience Program will support the department to partner with Queensland Government agencies to deliver their core services, by providing state-wide planning, building, maintenance, and disaster response services that utilise local suppliers and QBuild tradespeople and apprentices. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.

The primary purpose of the position is to manage the Household Resilience Program (HRP) and Strata Resilience Program (SRP) interface with its clients and associated program management activities. It is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the applicant interface and experience for the HRP and SRP, including the interface with the external grant management system.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Effective management of all Resilience Program applications including financial monitoring & timely reporting, whilst achieving agreed targets.
  • Proactively managing operational outcomes associated with delivery of the program, ensuring client satisfaction in relation to targets, reporting and budgets.
  • Establishing and maintaining Senior Management relationships with client agencies and other stakeholders to support improvement in the Resilience Program's delivery.
  • Identifying measures of continual improvement and output performance through value for money analysis.
  • Coordinating the activities of other project staff, external consultants, regional assessors and other business units in the achievement of project objectives.
  • In partnership with the Principal Project Manager, ensuring constant communication mechanisms are effectively implemented across multiple Disaster Resilience Programs.
  • Ensuring all quality assurance procedures within the work area are followed.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of staff within the of the Resilience Program's Teams.
  • Providing support and assistance between Disaster Resilience Program products.
  • Liaise with other program managers to adequately resource Disaster Resilience Programs.


The Skills You Will Need Include Being Able To

  • Demonstrated experience is customer liaison skills, including dealing with inquiries, monitoring client journey and complaints management.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of work plans, organisational and team goals through effective planning and allocation of resources, working collaboratively clients and responding positively under direction.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate confidently with identified stakeholders; both staff and client groups with high level analytical and strategic problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build capability in the team through mentoring and coaching and implementing development opportunities to strengthen staff skills and knowledge.
