Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Java Software Engineer – 12-Month Contract (Hybrid – Dublin)

Location: Dublin (Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite)

Type: Contract – 12 months + potential 12-month extension

About the Role

You’ll join a fast-paced, Agile team working on enterprise-level, high-performance systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that are core to global operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop robust, scalable, and secure backend services using Java (Spring Boot)
• Contribute to architectural decisions and system design discussions
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
• Ensure quality and performance standards are upheld throughout the development lifecycle

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong commercial experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot
• Experience working on distributed systems or high-performance platforms
• Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
• Agile/Scrum team experience is preferred
