Freelance Senior Cloud Architect / Engineer

Location: Luxembourg (mostly onsite)

Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect/Engineer to support an international client in Luxembourg. This freelance role focuses on private cloud infrastructure and requires broad technical expertise combined with business insight.

About the Role

You will be responsible for evaluating technical offers submitted in response to RFPs related to a new private cloud setup. This includes assessing proposed architectures, technologies, and implementation strategies.

The role demands a solid understanding of networking, security, hardware, cloud services, and infrastructure, combined with the ability to communicate technical insights to stakeholders. You should be equally comfortable diving into technical details and making strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess vendor responses to RFPs for private cloud solutions.
• Evaluate architecture, design, and implementation plans for infrastructure, networking, and security.
• Provide strategic input on cloud transformation and hybrid cloud integration.
• Ensure solutions meet business, technical, and compliance requirements.
• Produce technical documentation, including architecture overviews and evaluation reports.

Profile

• 7–10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, including private and hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, networking, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud migration, virtualization, and data center integration.
• Familiar with tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Solid grasp of DevOps methodologies and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
