Senior Project Manager.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and ensure the successful implementation of medium to large-scale plant engineering projects within the process industry. This pivotal role requires exceptional organizational acumen, strong communication capabilities, and decisive assertiveness to propel projects forward. Beyond assuming comprehensive budget responsibility, the successful candidate will be instrumental in leading project teams, developing detailed project plans and schedules, and facilitating seamless communication with all involved stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be entrusted with the following critical tasks:

• Assuming overall responsibility for the successful execution of major projects.
• Defining the strategic approach for project implementation to achieve defined objectives.
• Providing leadership and direct management to the project team.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for the client project manager throughout all project phases.
• Initiating and overseeing cost, risk, and schedule controlling, alongside comprehensive project reporting.
• Ensuring safety accountability within the project, including strict adherence to all EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations.
• Guaranteeing compliance with established company procedures, standards, and guidelines, as well as maintaining the required quality standards (QM & QC) throughout the project.
• Implementing and sustaining robust scope, change, and risk management frameworks at all project levels.
• Managing workflows and internal communication to ensure relevant stakeholders are consistently apprised of project progress.
• Conducting negotiations with clients and partners (suppliers), and overseeing all aspects of contract management.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• A completed technical degree with a specialization in process engineering, biotechnology, plant or mechanical engineering, civil engineering, architecture, or equivalent qualifications.
• Certification or additional training in project management is advantageous.
• Seven to Ten years of pertinent professional experience in the implementation of EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) plant engineering projects within the process industry (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical sectors).
• A profound technical and economic understanding of project processes and their broader context.
• Demonstrable excellence in communication and organizational skills.
• A strong team-oriented approach complemented by commitment, flexibility, and a pragmatic, hands-on methodology.
• Pronounced assertiveness and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across diverse disciplines.
• Excellent proficiency in English; knowledge of German is considered beneficial.
• Must be of Swiss or EU nationality, or have existing right to work in Switzerland.
• Willingness to undertake business travel as necessitated by project requirements.
