Role Overview:
The Product Cybersecurity Solution Architect (PCS Solution Architect) is a technical expert in the Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) central team, responsible for defining top-level cybersecurity attributes and functional requirements for onboard and offboard systems, performing feasibility analysis, and proposing solution roadmaps. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, suppliers, and other architects to ensure cybersecurity is addressed effectively across embedded automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define top-level cybersecurity requirements influenced by regulations (e.g., UNECE R155/R156) and risk assessments (TARA).
- Perform market analysis of existing PKI and cybersecurity solutions with focus on cost, maturity, and time-to-market.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders within GTT for implementation feasibility and gap analysis.
- Support Cybersecurity Vehicle Architects and PCS Design Engineers during solution implementation and requirement breakdown.
- Work with solution suppliers to assess technical suitability and architectural impact.
- Provide recommendations to tailor cybersecurity solutions for specific vehicle intro blocks.
- Oversee how offboard security aligns with onboard requirements (but does not define offboard technical details).
Mandatory / Primary Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solutions.
- Strong understanding and experience in performing TARA (Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment).
- Extensive experience in automotive embedded systems engineering.
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity architecture and concept design for:
- In-vehicle networks
- Embedded software
- Connected services
- Backend infrastructure
- Hands-on experience working with UNECE type approvals (R155, R156) and ISO/SAE 21434.
- Proficiency in writing cybersecurity requirements aligned with industry best practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Desirable / Additional Knowledge:
- Knowledge of C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems).
- Familiarity with standards like ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-20.
- Understanding of wireless and connected vehicle communication technologies.
