Software Development Engineer, Ring (Web)

Description

Join our team in Warsaw to accelerate the adoption of low-cost whole home security solutions to make neighborhoods safer!

You will build user interfaces and backend integrations for helping customers making purchases. This includes checkout experience, automated recommendations and knowledge base for self-service. You will build a single destination for improved customer experience to help provide product and feature knowledge, troubleshoot, DIY support. Your solutions will depend on Ring and Amazon back-end services on AWS.

You can expect working with serverless micro-services and API integrations. Your solutions will follow the AWS Well Architected Framework.

Key job responsibilities

You Will

• Write, test and deploy code using Amazon and AWS tools.
• Write automated unit, integration and canary tests.
• Design new user interfaces and features. Disambiguate technical challenges, propose solutions.
• Follow best practices in building highly scalable and resilient system.
• Insist on high standards in building user interfaces.
• Work with stakeholders and designers.
• Maintain and improve existing services
• Work in a Scrum team, attending Daily, Planning, Grooming and Retro meetings.
• Contribute to estimating and planning of work.
• Help your team mates and get help from them.
• Take part in oncall support and ensure operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JS including working with frameworks like React, Angular or Vue.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (JS, TS, Java, Python, C#) used for back-end development.
• Experience in system design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling of new and current systems).
• Experience in working with CI/CD tools.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Industry experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.
• Experience in working with scalable, reliable and high-performing web-services including serverless design patterns
• Experience in working with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP etc.).
• Experience in defining, developing and maintaining web-API's.
• Experience communicating with users, software development engineering teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs.
