As Nova Ukraine's Chief Technology Officer (СТО), you’ll lead the development and execution of our technology strategy to help scale our operations and deepen our impact. This hands-on leadership role involves managing our IT infrastructure, overseeing digital fundraising tools, and guiding technical teams working on our CRM, website, and internal systems.

You’ll have the opportunity to identify and launch new initiatives that improve how we raise funds, reach supporters, and deliver aid. From introducing AI tools that streamline operations to implementing new donation methods, your work will directly contribute to supporting Ukrainians affected by more than three years of full-scale war.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to combine strong technical and management skills with purpose-driven work, helping a leading nonprofit grow its reach and effectiveness from a solid Silicon Valley foundation.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ 8+ years of experience in IT, engineering, or technology roles, ideally with exposure to the nonprofit or social impact space.

✔ Fluent in Ukrainian.

✔ English level — Advanced (C1+) and above.

✔ Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and distributed contributors.

✔ Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels — able to define vision, delegate effectively, and step in hands-on when needed to move things forward.

✔ Strong understanding of modern fundraising platforms, CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent), CMS (e.g., WordPress), and data analytics tools. Experience with donation platforms, payment integrations (Stripe), and innovative giving methods (employer matching, DAFs).

✔ Familiarity with applying AI and automation tools to improve workflows, engagement, and internal operations

✔ Strong project management and communication skills; able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

✔ Desire to work in the humanitarian field and support the organization's mission.

Would be a plus:

✔ Experience in non-profit organizations or in the field of social impact.

What You’ll Do:

✔ Lead and manage Nova Ukraine’s IT stack, ensuring our tools are reliable, secure, and scalable.

✔ Oversee technical teams, including our CRM team, internal IT team, and development teams

✔ Own and maintain existing tools and platforms (donation platforms, CRM, CMS, etc.) and ensure their alignment with organizational goals.

✔ Innovate and implement new technologies that improve fundraising, volunteer coordination, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.

✔ Drive digital fundraising strategies, including emerging donation channels (DAFs, payment integrations, mobile-first experiences, new donation platforms).

✔ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate organizational goals into technical solutions and support campaign rollouts.

✔ Lead the ongoing evaluation and selection of technologies, tools, and platforms to support evolving organizational needs.

✔ Manage relationships and negotiate with technology vendors and partners to ensure cost-effective and high-impact solutions.

✔ Set and execute the long-term technology vision that reflects Nova Ukraine’s Silicon Valley DNA—efficient, modern, scalable, and impact-driven.

✔ Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance across all platforms.

✔ Stay ahead of trends in nonprofit technology, digital philanthropy, and CRM optimization.
