Key Responsibilities:
- Problem Solving Excellence: Tackle complex design challenges with a strategic mindset and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions. You will approach each problem holistically, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to drive meaningful outcomes.
- Industry Expertise: Stay ahead of industry design trends, methodologies, and technologies. Champion best practices in design thinking, user-centered design (UCD) principles, and usability to create exceptional, forward-thinking products that lead the market.
- Technical Mastery: Use advanced tools such as Figma, and other design and prototyping tools to create high-fidelity visual and interaction designs. Ensure all design outputs maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail, across all platforms.
- Cross-Platform Champion: Develop seamless and cohesive experiences across all digital touchpoints, including web, mobile, and app platforms. You will advocate for platform-specific nuances and best practices while maintaining a unified design language.
- Consumer-Driven Insights: Leverage your experience with consumer-led products to create designs that are not only visually stunning but also deeply intuitive and user-friendly. Use data-driven insights and user feedback to iterate on designs and improve the user experience.
- Design Mentorship: Drive design best practices across the teams by mentoring and guiding other designers in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. Advocate for design excellence and innovation while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Prototyping and Testing: Develop interactive prototypes that bring concepts to life and communicate design intentions clearly to stakeholders. Utilize rapid prototyping to test and validate ideas, iterate quickly, and refine designs based on user feedback and testing results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in design, HCI (Human-Computer Interaction), or a related field. (Need to include year of experience)
- Extensive experience in product design, with a focus on visual and interaction design for consumer-driven products.
- Proven expertise in creating cross-platform designs for web, mobile, and apps.
- Mastery in using industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD etc.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
- In-depth knowledge of design systems, usability principles, and accessibility standards.
- Strong communication, analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for home improvement, ecommerce, or related fields, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on customers’ lives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Previous experience working in a global team and managing cross-cultural design challenges.
- Proven experience in leading design projects and mentoring junior designers.
