Junior Java Developer

An established financial services company seeking a Junior level Java Developer to join their onsite team in Glasgow. This role offers the chance to work on critical backend systems supporting key financial products and services.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java 11+, Spring Framework, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features.
• Ensure code quality, security, and application performance.
• Use version control tools like Git to manage your code.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong skills in Java 11+, JDK 17 (certified preferred), Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
• Experience with Oracle & PL/SQL backend development.
• Understanding of Core Java EE, EJBs, JPA, and JAX-RS web services.
• Familiarity with automation testing (Selenium/Cucumber) and Agile methodologies.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
