Application engineer (Robotics & AI)

We are a spinoff currently at TU Darmstadt working on the forefront of innovation in edge AI. Our goal is to transfer our research results into the industry as a startup and develop cutting-edge solutions that enable deploying advanced AI applications on low-power and resource-constrained devices.

We are seeking a talented and motivated application engineer with expertise in ROS and embedded AI accelerators to join our dynamic team.

As an application engineer, you will be responsible for developing applications for embedding AI accelerators with the help of application frameworks such as ROS2, creating sensor fusion solutions for system integration, provisioning and commissioning AI-accelerated system solutions on embedded systems, and working on system interfaces and overall system creation for proof-of-concept studies, particularly for integrating with compiler tools from chip manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop our integrated embedded solutions containing AI- and application-accelerations on FPGAs as well as on embedded processors.
• Integrate the acceleration solutions within the application framework (most likely ROS2) and embedded Linux
• Generate new ways of integrated diagnostic systems and test-frameworks for the final application.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy models in production environments.
• Stay up to date with the latest research and trends in embedded systems.

Qualifications

• University science degree (M.Sc./Diploma) in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded Linux with the Yocto build chain.
• Strong skills in embedded AI computer vision.
• Strong background in ROS/ROS2.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
• Experiences in FPGA toolchains and general knowledge of FPGAs is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
