Firewall Engineer

Accpro is thrilled to partner with a leading organization, in filling crucial IT roles within their esteemed Firewall division. These roles contribute significantly to the robust security infrastructure of the organisation, ensuring the protection of their valuable assets and digital operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As a Firewall Architect, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive architectures, strategies, and roadmaps for our client's firewall estate.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the primary Firewall Architect, defining architectures and rulesets for our client's Palo Alto Firewall estate, encompassing the creation of High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, Change Requests, etc.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as project managers, network engineers, system administrators, and developers, to ensure firewall requirements are seamlessly integrated throughout project lifecycles.
• Providing firewall input into our client's technical incident response plans, including threat identification, risk assessment, and outlining actions during cybersecurity incidents.
• Continuously monitoring and enhancing firewall capabilities by staying abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and best practices through research, conferences, and professional collaboration.
• Assisting and supporting the wider Security Services function within our client as a firewall subject matter expert.
• Providing oversight on operational activities conducted by both internal and third-party (Managed Service Provider) firewall engineers, ensuring compliance with best practices and proactive assessment of changes in the operating environment.
• Conducting bi-annual rule assessments on the firewall estate and developing technical responses to penetration tests, security assessments, and vulnerability scan findings associated with the firewalls.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in firewall architecture.
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Relevant Palo Alto firewall certifications.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience collaborating with third-party vendors.
• Demonstrated experience in leading Firewall architecture.
• Proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience in firewall architectures within a hybrid cloud (Azure) environment.
• Strong understanding and practical experience of security processes and services.
