A fast-growing MSP in Hartford is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team and take ownership of dynamic, business-critical network environments. In this position, you’ll manage and support a wide range of network infrastructures, lead project delivery, and help drive secure, scalable, and high-performing environments for a variety of clients. You’ll play a key role in ensuring connectivity, security, and reliability across multiple environments, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Administration & Support: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, switches, and wireless systems for multiple clients to ensure performance and availability.
- Project Implementation:Lead and support client network projects including deployments, upgrades, and migrations. Collaborate with team members to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Client Engagement: Act as a technical point of contact for clients, providing onsite and remote support and ensuring outstanding service delivery.
- Security & Compliance: Implement firewall rules, VPNs, and network security best practices to protect client data and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Documentation & Tools Management: Maintain thorough documentation for client networks, and utilize RMM, PSA, and monitoring tools to track and manage IT environments effectively.
Key Requirements:
Must haves:
- 2+ years of network engineering experience within a multi-client or dynamic IT environment.
- Strong experience with routers, switches, firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall), and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Ability to manage and prioritize tickets across multiple environments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Good to haves:
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or Fortinet NSE.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of VoIP systems and remote access technologies.
