One of our companies is currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) in Latam.

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team focused on building backend tools that power the core operations of a fast-scaling food tech platform. You'll play a key role in supporting internal systems and Chef-focused solutions that manage everything from meal creation to labeling and distribution. You'll work closely with talented chefs and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable features, optimize performance, and maintain high engineering standards. This is a remote position, ideal for engineers eager to innovate within cloud architecture, data design, and microservices.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to support Chef OS systems and internal tools
• Own and maintain database design and integration using PostgreSQL
• Contribute to software architecture improvements and enforce coding best practices
• Troubleshoot technical issues, lead code reviews, and mentor other developers
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support platform uptime and service reliability
• Ensure high performance and security across microservice-based applications
  
  
  

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development skills
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and microservice architecture
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and service monitoring tools
• Ability to write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests
• Strong command of English and excellent communication skills
• Bonus: Familiarity with Kotlin, experience mentoring engineers, or background in food tech/startups
