RESPONSIBILITIES

As Symfony Backend Developer at Pimcore you will…

• Develop backend features for Pimcore and its commercial extensions using PHP and Symfony – improve, extend, modernize, review, and test – all in an agile organization.
• Be part of the team responsible for upgrading the Pimcore platform from Symfony 6 to 7.
• Plan and estimate new features and issues together with your team to ensure efficient development sprints and reliable releases.
• Solve complex and sometimes crazy challenges in large-scale data environments.
• Contribute to better usability and performance through smart backend solutions.
• Be a team player, collaborate closely with colleagues, and get things done together.
• Report development progress, raise issues, and help drive solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least five years of professional experience as a backend developer with PHP and Symfony; a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with Symfony 6 and 7, with the ability to architect, optimize, and troubleshoot complex backend systems confidently.
• Strong knowledge of software development patterns and best practices.
• Fluent in English.
• A valid EU work permit is required (Non-EU citizens: please attach the permit with your application).

For candidates with relevant professional experience, we offer a gross annual salary starting at EUR 60,000 (full-time). A higher salary is possible depending on qualifications and experience.
