Product Owner

For one of our clients in Brussels, we are currently looking for a freelance Product Owner.

As a Product Owner, your primary goal is to define, prioritize, and deliver high-value digital and operational solutions that align with business objectives. You will act as the bridge between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that the product vision is effectively translated into actionable user stories and deliverables. You will work on the development of products, customer & employee channels, or our operational capabilities.

What will you do?

• Roadmap : Contribute to the roadmap, giving insights on prioritization
• Backlog : Align the backlog with the roadmap. Provide a Clear definition of the backlog items. Ensure that the product backlog is visible, transparent and clear for everyone and shows what the team is working on
• Dependency management : identify, map, and manage dependencies (platforms, capabilities, other products)
• Iteration planning : organize the next iteration planning so that goals and missions can be achieved in the best possible way. Make sure all information needed by the team to execute the sprint are provided beforehand.
• Feature refinement : Refine feature with stakeholders.
• Team work : Optimize the value of the work done by the team. Ensure that the product team understands the requirements to the level it needs to. Protect the team from overflow of work and empower the team: Provide guidance on best practices, ensuring consistent delivery of high-impact solutions.
• Customer-oriented product development: Works closely with Product manager to support a customer-oriented product development cycle - including the implementation of feedback loops, measured outcomes and use of customer feedback.
• Quality assurance: In cooperation with the team, and at each stage of the product cycle ensure the quality of the product. This includes functional, technical, compliance fitness of the product.
• Foster collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, IT specialists, and customer experience teams to align chatbot solutions with broader business objectives.

Who are we looking for?

• 5+ years of experience in Agile methodologies and Product Ownership .
• Capable of bridging the gap between commercial, operational and technology needs & requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in French or Dutch, with a strong command of English.
• An analytical mindset, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach to problem-solving, paired with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in Brussels.
