DevSecOps Specialist (Helsinki)

We are now looking for a DevSecOps Specialist to join our team!

What You’ll Do

As a DevOps or agile software engineering professional with a strong interest in security, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our security posture while ensuring a seamless development and deployment process.

You’ll work closely with our Site Reliability Engineering team and multiple agile development teams across Elisa, each focused on different digital services.

You get to utilize your skills in a versatile way, both with hands-on tooling development and coaching development teams, making choices with the surrounding teams while learning from each other. This makes your role both dynamic and rewarding.

The role is based in Helsinki, Pasila - this is also where most of your closest stakeholders are. Our team follows Elisa’s hybrid working policies.

Your Key Responsibilities Are

• DevSecOps Tooling - Implement and maintain software development tools and processes for secret management, dependency scanning (Dependabot), and security testing (SAST/DAST), and software bill of materials (SBOM).
• CI/CD Pipeline Security – Develop and secure CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions. Automate security checks and implement guardrails in the pipeline.
• Infrastructure Security - Develop and enforce security policies for containerized environments running on Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Programming & Automation - Write automation scripts and tools using Python and Golang. Build custom security tools and utilities where necessary.
• Security Mindset & Coaching - Advocate for security best practices across engineering teams. Coach and mentor developers and operations staff on secure development and deployment techniques.
  
  

What We Hope From You

• Solid experience in agile software development as a DevOps/SRE or as a Software Engineer
• Expertise with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Actions and Dependabot
• Experience of running production workloads on Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Python and Golang for automation and scripting
• Hands-on experience with maintaining Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and metrics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
• A strong drive to support and encourage a security-first mindset across development teams through coaching and collaboration
  
  

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with different DevSecOps tooling (secret management, dependency management with different build pipelines, SAST, DAST, SBOM tools etc)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
• Familiarity with threat modeling and secure architecture reviews
• We also appreciate experience of working with open-source projects
