Network Engineer

PFH Technology Group is seeking a Level 3 Network Engineer to join our team in Dublin, based onsite with our client.

Objective: We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Level 3) to design, implement, maintain, and support our client’s growing network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a strong 'technical all-rounder'.

Contract: 12-month contract renewed annually

Location: Dublin, hybrid

Start Date: July 2025

Responsibilities

• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
• Provide Level-3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Maintenance and support of Windows server systems, backups storage and Local Area Network technologies.
• Maintenance and support of Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory.
• Maintenance and support of client hardware, including roll-out of new clients, upgrades and hardware repairs including network printers.
• Ensure all IT security policies of the company are implemented and adhered to at all times.
• Review and updating of all IT process documentation.
• Maintenance of database software.
• Perform system backups.
• Gathering requirements and translating business needs into business solutions including technical recommendations.
• Being a key contact on site for all IT related queries.
• Perform system backups.

Requirements

Proven hands-on network engineering experience (at least 4 years).

Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).

Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.

Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science.

CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
