Graduate Software Developer

About The Role

We are seeking a Graduate Software Developer to join our growing Development team and work on our world-leading customer engagement, personalisation and data platform.

To thrive in this exciting environment we imagine the Software Developer to be a proactive and driven individual, who excels at understanding and working on complex technical solutions that have large scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Contributing to platform development by being an active member of one of our agile software development teams
• Work independently or with other engineers to develop bug fixes, platform improvements and new features
• Output code and solutions that are of the highest standards
• Dev test work before committing code for review
• Write unit tests for new work where appropriate
• Investigate, test, and resolve technical problems
• Be an engaged and collaborative team member who in addition to getting through day-to-day work contributes thoughts and ideas where possible, for example:
• for process improvement to your team and the wider Xtremepush community
• for product enhancements that will be valuable to our users
• for performance improvements to the Xtremepush platform
  

Your Experience And Qualifications

• A recent or upcoming graduate of an appropriate technical course such as a software engineering degree or diploma
• Someone who is passionate about software development and technology with some practical experience outside of your course from personal projects, freelance work, or open source contributions.
• A strong developer, with good understanding of OOP best practices
• Experience with frontend technologies
• Knowledge of relational databases & SQL
• Experience working with APIs
• Can work on own initiative, ‘can do’ attitude
• Logical problem solver
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical solutions simply to others
• A team player that thrives when working as part of a team
  
  

Nice to Have

• Interested in data analytics and marketing technologies
• Specific knowledge of the core technologies in our tech stack:
• PHP, Go, VueJS, MySQL, AWS, Linux
• Understanding of performance optimization using queues, caching, and event driven patterns.
• Experience with developing software using cloud native services
