Cybersecurity Specialist

Responsibilities

Protecting Data and Systems: Implement and maintain security measures to protect an organization's data and systems from cyber threats.
Monitoring Security: Continuously monitor networks and systems for any signs of security breaches or vulnerabilities.
Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and breaches, and develop strategies to mitigate damage.
Security Assessments: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential weaknesses and recommend improvements.
Implementing Security Measures: Set up and manage firewalls, antivirus software, and other security measures to safeguard systems.
Staying Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure the organization's defenses are current.
Training and Awareness: Educate employees about cybersecurity best practices and conduct training sessions to raise awareness about potential threats.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in cybersecurity, IT, or a related field.
Skills: Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption. Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and technologies.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are often preferred.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address security issues.
Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively convey security policies and procedures to team members and stakeholders.

Hands-on Experience in Managing Network Security Devices (Fortinet, Palo Alto Firewalls)

Monitoring and Investigating security events and IOCs using multi-vendor SIEMs (Microsoft Sentinel, Qradar)

Hands-on experience in Managing Microsoft Defender for endpoint
