We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join us as Chief Accountant.
In this key position, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to the Group Accounting and Treasury guidelines and meeting all external reporting and legal requirements.
You will ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reports, coordinate audits, and engage with both internal and external auditors.
Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and provide ad hoc support as needed.
You will oversee cash flow management and proactively manage financial risks by implementing and continually developing financial policies and procedures.
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
General Accounting
Ensure 100% compliance with local legislation and internal group guidelines.
Maintain accurate and transparent accounting and timely financial information submission.
Manage the fixed asset register, account payables, and receivables.
Process bank statements, clear accounts, and reconcile at month-end.
Proactively manage credit and payment risks, including fraud prevention and detection.
Period Closing, Planning and Forecasting
Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and annual financial closings and statutory financial statements.
Drive the annual and interim audit processes and prepare all required tax submissions.
Review and correct monthly reports and financial statements before submitting them to HQ or authorities.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
Treasury Management
Prepare the monthly cash flow forecasting & reporting.
Monitoring of cash level within group guidelines.
Preparation of monthly and weekly cash reporting as required.
Business Partnership
Act as a contact and sparring partner for budget owners and support decision making with financial reporting.
Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements; maintain internal controls and processes.
Assist with vendor, customer, and staff queries, and provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager as needed.
People Management
Build and motivate a highly engaged team, set annual objectives, and link pay to performance.
Conduct bi-annual performance reviews with clear and honest feedback and promote development through internal training.
Ensure key processes are documented in writing and use checklists to maintain consistency.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- CMA (Certified Management Accountant), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar organization (ideally FMCG industry or Audit)
- Vast knowledge of all local tax regulations, local GAAP and IFRS
- Strong leadership skills
- Capable of communicating precisely, effectively and convincingly based on facts with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working with an ERP system – ideally BI, SAP (S4 HANNA, Fl, SD and MM module)
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and English language skills
- A self-motivated, self-directed, structured and well-organized individual and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
