Senior Java Engineer

You will be passionate about building scalable systems and curious about where AI and machine learning can be applied to solve real business problems.

About the role...
You'll join a collaborative engineering squad working on high-availability systems in a true DevOps environment. The role spans the full SDLC - from design and development through to testing, deployment, and support, contributing to both architecture and hands-on coding.

Day to day you will be...

• Building and maintaining microservices using Java
• Designing and delivering cloud-native applications
• Working with APIs, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and event-driven systems
• Applying CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices
• Taking accountability for the performance, reliability, and scalability of the solutions you build
• Exploring and applying AI/ML approaches where relevant (e.g. improving customer experiences, operational efficiency, or fraud detection)

You will have...

• Proven experience with Java (core language expertise)
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience with APIs and microservices architecture
• Exposure to SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with event streaming tools and concepts (e.g., Kafka)
• Understanding of TDD, CI/CD, or SRE principles
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts and practical experience applying them in a commercial setting is highly desirable
