As the Executive Officer, Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) you are responsible for the management of the Office of the Assistant Director-General, overseeing the business of the team and providing strategic advice and support to the Assistant Director-General and Strategic Management Group on planning, reporting and operational matters across the full breadth of OLGR's business.

The team and the branch

The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation has more than 200 staff located across nine different regions. As Queensland's liquor and gambling regulator, the Office contributes to safe and more responsible liquor and gambling environments that minimise alcohol and gambling harm, build community confidence and support industry development. The Office has a number of business areas comprising: liquor and gambling licensing functions; gaming services (including technical services, operations and probity); regional services (including program development and governance); industry compliance and investigations; audit and casino compliance.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high level advice and support to the Assistant Director-General on strategic, management and operational issues supporting the delivery of OLGRs business plan.
  • Manage a range of activities across OLGR including group and operational planning, Estimates and parliamentary matters, risk management, performance management and reporting, complaints reporting, and other activities associated with effective corporate governance.
  • Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to support the Assistant Director-General and the Strategic Management Group.
  • Manage and/or oversee projects of a substantial and complex nature, particularly those requiring coordination across areas of OLGR.
  • Coordinate submissions, proposals and initiatives requiring responses from across OLGR and/or across the department.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and networks with clients and stakeholders within the department, and with other public sector agencies and external groups, including liaising and negotiating at a senior level and representing the Assistant Director-General as needed.
  • Undertake other related duties as required to support the business of OLGR.
