Are you passionate about bringing characters and worlds to life through captivating animation? Icy Studios, a leader in innovative game development, is seeking a talented Game Animator Intern to join our team and create dynamic animations that enhance the player experience. This role is ideal for those eager to develop their skills in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Animate Characters and Environments: Create fluid and expressive animations for characters, creatures, and environmental elements that enhance immersion and gameplay.
  • Collaborate with Designers and Artists: Work closely with the creative team to ensure animations align with the game’s style, tone, and mechanics.
  • Implement Animations: Integrate animations directly into the game engine, ensuring they work smoothly within gameplay and respond naturally to player inputs.
  • Refine & Improve: Take feedback from playtests and the design team to adjust and polish animations for the best possible player experience.
  • Explore New Techniques: Research and apply industry-standard practices, including keyframe animation, rigging, and motion capture, to create cutting-edge animations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for Animation and Games: A love for both video games and animation, with a drive to create immersive, high-quality experiences.
  • Basic Knowledge of Animation Principles: Understanding of animation fundamentals, including timing, movement, and weight, in the context of games.
  • Experience with Animation Software: Familiarity with software like Maya, Blender, or similar tools; knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.
  • Creative Problem Solver: Ability to think creatively and find solutions for animating complex movements and interactions.
  • Portfolio: A showcase of your animation work, particularly in a gaming or character-based context, is highly encouraged.
