Lead Java Developer

Position Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: Antwerp, Belgium

Duration: 6 month (possibility of extension)

Languages: Dutch and English Dutch – CEFR level C2 (Mandatory)

Work mode: Hybrid

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a dynamic DevOps team involved in building and enhancing critical operational systems and advanced information control platforms. This role combines full-stack development, system integration, and Agile collaboration within a complex and evolving IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Work with technologies including Spring Boot, Angular, Hibernate, Oracle DB, REST/SOAP.
• Set up test environments and develop unit and integration tests.
• Participate in Agile teams; mentor and coach junior developers when necessary.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and ensure code scalability, maintainability, and performance.

Technical Requirements:

Mandatory Skills:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Proficiency in Angular, REST APIs, and SQL (preferably Oracle).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Sonar, and JIRA.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices.

Additional Experience Preferred:

• Familiarity with Docker, Maven, Swagger/OpenAPI, and SOAP services.
• Exposure to ELK Stack, ActiveMQ, Typescript/JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
• Experience with Agile leadership or mentoring is an advantage.
