Reports to: OPCO Environmental, Health and Safety Manager
Role Purpose
The role aims to ensure that Heineken Ireland maintains best practices in health, safety, and environmental management. Reporting to the OPCO SHE Manager, the SHE Engineer will drive safety, health, and environmental obligations across the business, from Global OpCO representation to local cross-functional engagement. The SHE Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for the site, ensuring compliance with all SHE-related legislation, group policies, and standards. The SHE Engineer will build collaborative relationships across the site and within the Global SHE community, sharing best practices and learnings to help improve these functions. The role will also serve as a point of contact for liaising with competent authorities, supporting audits and issue resolution, driving key SHE initiatives on-site to help meet site metrics, group KPIs, coaching, and fostering a continuous improvement culture.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (Safety & Environment)
- Environmental & Sustainability Leadership
- Lead the Site Environmental Pillar, aligning with global TPM and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
- Develop and manage the site environmental roadmap and HEIQuest compliance.
- Ensure EPA Industrial Emissions License and IPC License compliance, including environmental data reporting and audit hosting (EPA, NSAI).
- Manage waste, water, air, and noise monitoring, and oversee the Waste Management Program.
- Drive sustainability programs (BABW) and contribute to the annual Capex Investment Plan.
- Lead the TPM Health & Safety Pillar, promoting Life Saving Commitments and supporting SHE projects.
- Collaborate with SHE Manager and department heads on Environmental Program Plan execution.
- Act as primary contact for HSE, EPA, and other statutory bodies.
- Manage compliance tools (Pegasus legal register, HEIQuest) and legal audits.
- Oversee Safety & Environmental Training, including First Aid and ERT coordination.
- Investigate incidents/accidents, implement corrective actions, and ensure reporting closure via the 12 Rules system.
- Ensure timely deployment of incident and near miss data.
- Support contractor and permit systems, and provision of PPE requirements.
- Actively engage in TPM and Supply Chain Daily Control activities.
- Host internal/external audits and manage EMS corrective actions and continuous improvements.
- Review and approve safety/environmental-related process changes

Knowledge And Experience
- Qualification in a relevant field (e.g., health, safety and environment) with at least 4 years of related experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Environmental Legislation and experience managing an IPC License, as well as dealing with the EPA, County Councils, and local authorities.
- Strong computer and analytical skills (Microsoft packages).
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally, working independently and as part of a team.
