UI Designer

Introduction

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI Designer, with at least 3 years of experience, to join our design team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in user interface design and has solid experience working with design systems, in creating intuitive and visually appealing digital experiences.

You will collaborate closely with the rest of design (UX, research and content), engineering, and product management, to bring ideas to life through elegant and functional UI designs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a UI Designer In IBM Automation, You Will

• Create high-fidelity mockups, graphics (illustrations & icons), design patterns and prototypes.
• Implement and/or maintain components, patterns and other assets within the design system.
• Understand business problems across our customer set in order to have context for deliverables.
• Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and user flows into high-fidelity UI mockups.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders, users, and usability testing.
• Share work in progress, along with giving and receiving critiques.
• Partner with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and interactions.
  
  
  

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3+ years of experience, in designing digital products (web/mobile), encompassing:
• Creating visually compelling mockups of user interfaces, as well as other graphical elements like data visualisations, illustrations and icons.
• Strong understanding of design principles (typography, layout, imagery, color) and have the ability to create efficiencies in visual design workflows.
• Working with components, patterns and artefacts in design systems
• Experience using tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Strong portfolio showcasing design work across various digital platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Solid understanding of modern design thinking and design trends
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better collaborate with developers.
