About The Position
We have available a 30% position as Principal Engineer (SKO 1085) at the Department of Neurosurgery, Division of Clinical Neuroscience, Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo. The appointment is for a period of two years.
The research is anchored in the K.G. Jebsen Center for Brain Fluid Research, led by Professor Per Kristian Eide. The center has funding for 5 years; the end date being 19 September 2029.
The position is externally financed.
The work of the research project will be carried out in close partnership with a diverse team that spans multiple disciplines, emphasizing the need for strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
The Principal Engineer is expected to take active part in the research cooperation within the group and to co-supervise students. The engineer will be supported in acquiring qualifications, promoting current and future work in higher academic positions within the relevant disciplines.

Responsibilities
The objective of the project is research activity associated with the defined objectives of the center, the major work assignments being:
- Management of MRI data. Proven experience in data handling.
- Establishing a quality register for existing research data.
Qualifications
- Documented experience from data management of MRI data to/from PACS and image analysis in platforms like Services for sensitive data (TSD).
- An educational background in health sciences, radiography, computer science or another relevant natural science discipline, at a minimum of master’s level.
- Practical experience from MRI/radiology research environment.
- Experience with MRI data structuring and processing in respective platforms.
- Excellent communication skills in a Nordic language.
- Very good written and spoken English skills.

- Salary in position as Principal Engineer (1085) in salary range NOK from 580 000 to 645 000 depending on competance and experience. From the salary, 2 percent is deducted in statutory contributions to the State Pension Fund.
