Job Title: DevOps/Data Ops Engineer

Location: 100% Remote role

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Release Management, the DevOps/Data Ops Engineer is responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the DevOps tools and processes. You will be working closely with teams of software developers, Quality Assurance team, and the SRE team with the delivery and promotion of software releases though the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You are a versatile and flexible individual capable of working with several different platforms and technologies to deliver robust solutions to clients and users. You will be assisting the technology teams in finding and implementing new and better ways to build, deploy their software releases through automation in AWS cloud environments. The core value of Release Management DevOps is to deliver client’s products to its clients as efficiently as possible with a focus on automation. A successful candidate must possess excellent analytical and technical skills, with a focus on detail, quality, and accuracy.


Responsibilities

• Maintenance of deployment, build and automation tools (CI/CD)

• Planning and implementation of CI/CD automation and monitoring

• Provide source code management support to software developers

• Provide 1st level support of production applications

• Database schema management

• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies: daily standup meeting, sprint planning, sprint demos.

• Participate in the planning and execution of software releases

• Participate in the review and improvement of current DevOps technologies


Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience

• Capable of learning and adapting to new tools and technologies

• Significant experience with databases, especially SQL Server

• Significant experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Solid understanding of the Linux operating system

• Experience with CI/CD with a Strong understanding of BitBucket Piplelines

• Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible configuration management tools

• Experience with programming in Python

• Experience with building and running Java applications

• Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies

• Strong understanding with GIT

• Capable of working with different teams and respect priorities

• Experience with Big Data is an asset
