Role Purpose

Responsible for overseeing and conducting detailed security assessments and design reviews for all new implementations, upgrades, and major changes in technology projects to maintain a robust security architecture that protects the organization's telecom and IT infrastructure, systems, and data. And ensure alignment with industry’s best practices and regulatory requirements.

Minimum role requirements:

Qualification: Bachelor in relevant field

Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, TOGAF, AWS Security, CISM, GIAC, etc.

Experience:

Proficient: 7 years of experience

Senior Proficient: 8 years of experience

Key Accountabilities

Conduct design reviews, integration recommendations, and ensure that all projects (IT & Telecom) comply with Omantel's cyber security requirements.
Identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions to protect Omantel's technological infrastructure.
Ensure that IT and telecommunication technologies are implemented securely, aligning with industry best practices and international standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NIST.
Track and report on the performance of implemented security measures.
Perform regular risk assessments, implement appropriate controls to mitigate identified risks, and ensure that the organization’s risk appetite remains moderate and below.
Assists the development and execution of security strategies, policies, and procedures, enhancing Omantel's overall security posture.
lead the integration of advanced security measures across various platforms and projects
Provide expert security guidance in cloud security transformations to improve the security posture and operational efficiency of Omantel.
Provide expert security guidance in vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance with international standards to ensure that Omantel remains at the forefront of cybersecurity.
Provide expert security guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including business case reviews, RFP creation, and tender evaluations.
Support junior staff and provide knowledge sharing within the Security Architecture Services department.
Share knowledge, provide guidance, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Support the security management team in strategic decisions and initiatives, contributing to the development and execution of comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures.
Provide insights and recommendations on emerging security trends and technologies to management, helping to shape the Omantel’s security landscape.
