Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Mobile App development)

Location: Chennai Experience: 5 - 7 years

Product Description:

At Hapag-Lloyd, the CargoMate application provides a port call optimization system for container ships. It monitors cargo operations directly from vessels, giving shore-based teams access to live forecasts of cargo completion times. This helps to keep vessels on schedule while reduce fuel consumption and emissions in ports. The solution includes mobile and web frontends, a backend and integration with other software solutions.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Mobile app development to join our CargoMate Product development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance applications.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the CargoMate product team, you will:

• Develop and enhance the CargoMate product based on business needs.
• Implement new features and solutions aligned with the product roadmap.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with Business and IT teams globally.
• Work with stakeholders to address conflicts and resolve challenges.
• Continuously improve processes, conduct retrospectives, and identify areas for optimization.
• Manage and prioritize your tasks in alignment with the team lead.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Mobile & Web Development: React Native, TypeScript
• State Management: Redux, Redux-Saga, Redux Toolkit
• Backend Integration: RESTful APIs
• Testing: Jest
• Deployment: Google Play deployment experience
• DevOps: CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud: AWS

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a globally distributed environment.
• Team player with experience collaborating across IT teams, business units, and external stakeholders.

• Experience in Java / Kotlin is a plus
