We’re seeking a strategic, collaborative, and forward-thinking Principal Project Officer to support the delivery of cross-government infrastructure priorities. Use your strengths in communication, strategic thinking, research, and project management to develop innovative policies and provide high-level advice that drives economic growth and liveability. You’ll work in a dynamic team environment, engaging with stakeholders across government and industry.

As a Principal Project Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering cross-government priorities under the State Infrastructure Strategy. You'll work in a dynamic, high-impact policy environment, developing and coordinating innovative infrastructure policies that support economic growth, liveability, and sustainability.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community to deliver strategic advice and lead projects that address complex infrastructure challenges. Your work will directly influence how Queensland plans and delivers infrastructure now and into the future.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-level strategic, policy, and service delivery advice to senior executives, the Minister, and Director-General.

Conduct research and analysis to address complex policy and system issues at state, national, and global levels.

Prepare well-researched reports, policy papers, Cabinet submissions, and briefing materials.

Lead and support projects using structured project management approaches, including governance, engagement, budgeting, and risk management.

Represent the department in meetings and negotiations with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community.

Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and support the delivery of key strategies and reforms.
