Network Security Consultant


Based in Luxembourg. Candidates must be eligible to work in Luxembourg and to work on site full time.


Initial 3 month contract with opportunity for further renewals.


Ideally looking for an immediate start date, however our client can wait a maximum of a 1 month notice period.


Within this assignment, working as a Network Security Consultant, you will be responsible for protecting the organisations computer systems, network and data from potential threats such as cyber attacks, data breaches and unauthorised access. This role will involve monitoring, identifying, analysing and mitigating security risks to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of the information systems.


You will be responsible for performing threat monitoring and incident response, this will include monitoring security systems, alerts and logs to identify and respond to potential threats and to investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches and malware outbreaks. You will also perform vulnerability assessments and pen testing as well as identifying and prioritising security weaknesses in the systems, applications and networks. You will also need to ensure the compliance with security regulations and standards e.g GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO27001 and to assist in developing and enforcing security policies, procedures and guidelines. You will need to manage and maintain the security tools to include firewalls, antivirus solutions and intrusion detection system and data loss prevention systems and to configure and monitor the SIEM tools for log analysis and incident detection. You will also be involved in access control and identity management which will involve implementing and managing access control policies including user permissions and roles and monitoring for unauthorised access for insider threats. As part of this role, you will need to document the incidents, vulnerabilities and mitigation efforts and maintain security related documentation such as risk assessments and system configurations.


Essential Skills


  • Must be fluent in English, any other languages is an advantage.
  • At least 3-4 years experience working in similar role in Network and Security.
  • Preferably completed a University degree in an IT related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of SSL VPN implementation and configuration.
  • Understanding of two factor authentication solutions.
  • Experience with MS Active Directory.
  • Knowledge in DNS and DHCP.
  • Experience working with SIEM tools, preferably Splunk.
  • Experience with firewalls.
  • Knowledge or previous experience on how to deploy, maintain, optimise and secure windows server based operating systems.
