One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Junior Security Analysts - APS 4. This is a long-term contractual position.

  1. Contract Duration: 03 Years (12 Months initially + 24 Months extension)
  2. Work Location: Only Canberra (Hybrid working available)
  3. Eligibility: You must need to have NV1 Security Clearance or above.
  4. Tentative Start Date: 1st July 2025


Position Description:


Cyber Advisors provide ICT security advice and assistance to government, including policy creation, project advice and assistance, and research.


Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Responsible for actioning and allocating SIAM cyber related tickets through our client's system and other cybersecurity queues like shared mailboxes.
  • Responsible for proxy administration, website whitelisting and troubleshooting requests related to proxy rule restrictions.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders both written and verbal.
  • Developing and maintaining cyber knowledge base articles for the SIAM, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cyber teams.
  • Level 1 and 2 Incident investigation and response within the designated SIEM, escalating tickets to incident response manager and senior cyber resources where required.
  • Alert response activities within a protected environment SIEM.
  • Contribute to Change Management for DAFF relating to cyber security and other approval requests.


Technical skills:


Minimum two years demonstrated experience with: Enterprise Proxies Azure Sentinel Defender XDR Splunk Active Directory Ticket management systems.


Essential Criteria:


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Cyber Security related role.
  • Demonstrated experience with the toolsets and platforms noted under the technical skills section.
  • Demonstrated experience producing standard operating procedures in a Cyber environment and producing operational technical documentation/user guides for cyber designated systems.
  • Experience in an IT environment in Change Management reviews in particular firewall rules.
  • Experience working with ITIL processes.
  • Communicating to end users regarding cyber requests, issues and queries.
