IOGP Europe is recruiting a person who is currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in data science, statistics, environmental studies or a related field who is highly motivated and interested in the energy industry.
This person will work closely with the all teams to analyze and visualize data, helping to make it more impactful while identifying underlying trends and patterns.
Key responsibilities mix:
- Support policy, outreach and communication teams with relevant data to support advocacy towards external stakeholders.
- Analyze and visualize data to identify trends and patterns.
- Collect and organize datasets from reliable industry, governmental and EU/international institutional (Eurostat, IEA, OECD, World Bank etc.) sources.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and relevance.
- Prepare and format sections of the annual statistical report.
- Monitor emerging trends in energy production, imports, and emissions.
- Coordinate with the IOGP Secretariat in London to ensure alignment in data analysis
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Environmental Studies, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluent in English. Knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
- Skills:
- Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or similar software.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Interest in energy and environmental topics, including oil and gas, CCS, hydrogen, and GHG emissions.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Analytical and quantitative skills, including strong skills in data processing.
