paymenttools
Germany · Full-time · Not Applicable

You don’t just build products - you build clarity, momentum, and impact.

Paymenttools is on a mission to transform the payment landscape for retailers in Europe. With more than 4,4 billion visitors per year in our more than 15,000 REWE Group stores and travel agencies in 21 countries we know exactly what consumers and merchants need when exchanging goods for money. We strongly believe in making payments seamless and invisible, linking them with value added services within the framework of a reliable identity service. Our mantra: #wesolvepayn. We blend cutting-edge technology with stringent security to protect sensitive payment data while nurturing innovation in a cloud-native tech environment.

In this strategic role as a Product Owner (d/f/m) - Merchant Center, you’ll operate at the sweet spot where technology, user experience, and business strategy meet. As a product owner, you’ll team up with leadership, solution architects, developers, designers, and stakeholders to shape and drive a strong product vision - one that’s secure, robust, and always user-centric.

You’ll be the glue that keeps the cross-functional pieces aligned, ensuring your product area delivers real, measurable impact. You’ll lead with clarity and act as a fluent translator between technical and non-technical audiences, helping everyone understand not just what you’re building – but why it matters.

  • Champion user experience: Work side-by-side with UX/UI designers to ensure the product is intuitive, inclusive, and truly useful for a diverse set of merchant users
  • Embed user research, usability testing, and feedback loops into the development lifecycle to validate and refine your solutions

  • A proven background as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally in a B2B or fintech context
  • Comfortable with both strategy and execution - from high-level planning to hands-on delivery
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in cross-functional environments
  • Strong awareness of UX/UI principles and a track record of building user-centered products
  • A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies and experience collaborating with development teams
  • Confident reviewing and challenging wireframes, prototypes, and user flows with a product-focused mindset
  • Bonus: Experience with design thinking, journey mapping, or similar frameworks
