My South Dublin based client is recruiting for a Data Reporting Analyst this is a perm role working on a hybrid model. The Data Reporting Analyst will join a fast-paced and innovative environment within the financial services sector. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a passion for uncovering insights through data to contribute to a growing, data-driven team.
As a Reporting/Data Analyst, you’ll be an integral part of the IT department, supporting both internal and external stakeholders with meaningful reports, dashboards, and analytical insights. You will work across various data platforms and be involved in all stages of the data lifecycle—from data extraction and transformation to analysis and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights through regular and ad hoc reporting.
- Build, design, and maintain complex SQL queries and reports tailored to evolving business needs.
- Manage and enhance the existing suite of reports, updating datasets and filters as necessary.
- Collaborate with risk and pricing teams to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.
- Prioritize business and information needs based on collaboration with internal management.
- Act as a primary contact for 3rd-party service and capital providers; participate in relevant meetings and calls.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements using data-driven techniques.
- Present analytical findings clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders, senior management, and external partners.
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a financial or comparable industry.
- Strong understanding of the full data lifecycle and ability to interpret emerging trends.
- Proficiency in SQL for both ad hoc queries and report development.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and platforms such as:
- Power BI
- Python or R
- IBM Cognos Analytics
- SSRS
- Advanced Excel (including macros)
- Java/Javascript (advantageous)
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central 365 (a plus)
- Experience maintaining SQL databases, report views, and managing snapshot data.
- Confident presenting reports and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel features and macros.
