Agile Coach

Title: Agile Coach

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA (occasional onsite only)

Position Type: Contract (W2)

Agile Coach Responsibilities:

• Directly manage the setup of Agile teams, Agile programs, and SAFe Agile Release Trains
• Coach senior business and technology leaders on the Agile mindset, Agile delivery, and enabling conditions
• Facilitate organizational alignment discussions around Agile delivery, strategic vision, and business outcomes
• Conduct assessments to evaluate team readiness and identify opportunities to elevate Agile maturity
• Design and execute assessments and metrics to pinpoint improvement areas
• Train and coach Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and Development Teams
• Create collaborative coaching plans for performance optimization
• Contribute to the Agile Community of Practice (e.g., content creation, workshops, Lean Coffees)
• Assist in defining Agile metrics to demonstrate team/program value
• Identify and resolve organizational impediments to Agile team performance
• Serve as Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer as needed
• Configure, set up, and maintain Jira

Agile Coach Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 10+ years of experience in technology delivery
• 5+ years of Agile coaching at the program or portfolio level
• Agile certifications: CSM, CSPO, PSM, PSPO, PMI-ACP, SAFe, etc.
• Experience with scaled Agile programs (e.g., SAFe)
• Agile mindset and deep expertise in Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe
• Executive presence with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with senior leaders and teams
• Familiarity with Organizational Change Management best practices
• Understanding of engineering practices: TDD, CI/CD, DevOps
• Flexibility to support various Agile team contexts
• Experience with SDLC and Release Management
• Experience launching Agile teams and Agile Release Trains
• Experience with mixed methodology programs (e.g., Scrum-Waterfall)
• Proficiency in Agile Lifecycle Management tools: JIRA, Azure DevOps, VersionOne, Rally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including high-level expertise in Jira

Agile Coach Preferred Experience:

• Certified Agile Coach (CAC)
• PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma certifications
• Expertise in Product Development and/or Customer Experience
• Previous experience in the Utility industry
