SENIOR WORDPRESS DEVELOPER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior WordPress Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina.

Established in 1997 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, they have earned accreditation from esteemed organizations and regulatory bodies, including the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), and the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), among others.

We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Developer with extensive experience in both front-end and back-end development. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining custom WordPress themes and functionality, with minimal reliance on plugins or templates.

Project duration of 6-10 months.

Requirements

• Strong experience in WordPress development, including:
• Custom themes and plugins (no templates or builders);
• PHP & WordPress core functions;
• ACF PRO;
• Block editor (Gutenberg) integration with classic themes.
  
  

Solid experience with front-end stack:

• HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, JavaScript, jQuery;
• Responsive layouts and Bootstrap;
• SVG animation via CSS/JavaScript (work samples are required).
• Experience with the integration of REST APIs, AJAX, and JSON.
• Understanding of technical SEO and site speed optimization.
• Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility (WCAG 2.1, Section 508).
• Familiarity with basic web security, 2FA, HTTPS, and modern auth practices
• Understanding of using Git/GitHub.
• Experience with Cloudflare and Google Tag Manager.
• A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of design implementation.
• A collaborative spirit to work closely with marketing and leadership to develop high-performance, secure, accessible, and visually appealing websites.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins without relying on third-party page builders.
• Perform advanced front-end development using HTML5, SCSS/SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and SVG animations.
• Modify and enhance existing themes to support newly added or updated plugins.
• Write and maintain custom PHP functions and integrations.
• Implement and maintain Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and native WordPress blocks.
• Test and assess the impact of WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates.
• Optimize websites for optimal performance, SEO, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1/Section 508).
• Implement tracking and analytics using Google Tag Manager.
• Integrate APIs via REST, JSON, and AJAX to deliver real-time, dynamic features.
• Use Git/GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
• Ensure websites are responsive across all devices and screen sizes.
• Monitor and maintain the health, uptime, and security of websites.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, and leadership to execute site improvements.
