Our Cloud team is responsible for developing our high-performance SaaS Cloud Platform. This Enables Akamai-ESG to release faster, larger scale, and monitor our various deployments. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Lead and mentor a team of experienced SRE engineers.
• Develop and maintain Akamai's Cyber Security SaaS cloud platform
• Design and implement cloud strategies and policies that meet the organization's needs
• Keep up on the latest SRE technologies, trends, and best practices, and act as a technical knowledge ambassador for the team.
• Promote system reliability and operability
• Design architecture and the overview implementation of complex cloud-based architectures and solutions.
• Enforce quality processes, perform technical root cause analysis, and promote developer autonomy
• Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, including development, support, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of SRE and cloud strategies across the organization.
• Take a hands-on approach: Actively engage in day-to-day troubleshooting, code reviews, and system maintenance to ensure operational excellence while leading your team.
• Maintain and exceed high SLA targets, ensuring robust system uptime and performance.
  
  

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

• 2+ years of experience in a team lead or manager role.
• Experience with modern container orchestration technologies, preferably Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms like GCP, Linode, Azure, or AWS.
• Proficiency in IaC and automation tools (e.g. Terraform and Ansible)
• Software development experience, ideally in Python or GoLang.
• Experience in managing and troubleshooting Linux systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about complex technical challenges and optimizing production systems.
• An innovative approach, with the ability to quickly learn technologies and build solutions.
• Experience with observability systems such as Datadog/New Relic/Grafana, or similar
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
