We are looking for a
Senior Data Scientist, Optimization
To join the KONE IT in Espoo, Finland. You will develop strategically impactful optimization solutions that play a key role in our digital transformation initiatives. By applying mathematical optimization techniques, you’ll help our business functions go beyond traditional analytics—translating data insights into actionable, value-driven outcomes.
We build cloud-native solutions using Databricks and AWS and operate in full DevOps mode with agile ways of working. You’ll get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art cloud technologies in a global, multicultural work environment.

To succeed in this role, the following experience will be key:
- M.Sc. or PhD in mathematics, engineering, operations research, data science, computer science—or a related field—with a strong academic foundation in mathematical optimization (e.g. linear programming).
- Proven experience successfully solving complex optimization and data science problems in a business context (6+ years preferred).
- Experience industrializing and operating optimization solutions within large organizations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex challenges effectively.
- Preferably relevant cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
- Passion for agile development and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and draw.io.
- Familiarity with AI/MLOps concepts.
- Built-in cybersecurity awareness and understanding of data privacy and compliance regulations.
- Ability to work in a global, multicultural team and collaborate effectively.
- Strong self-organization, accountability, and proactive mindset; open to feedback, resilient, and solution-oriented.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills.
