Summary: The Lead Frontend React position focuses on leading the development and delivery of high-quality web applications within the Business Services Digital team. This role is integral to the team, which supports global banking services, and aims to enhance front-end engineering standards through strong mentorship and best practices.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern front-end tools.
Take ownership of software delivery and application support across the full development lifecycle.
Guide and mentor developers; promote knowledge sharing and team growth.
Define and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, accessibility, and performance.
Collaborate with backend developers, product managers, QA, and UX teams.
Manage and coordinate software releases, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, and system maintainability.
Ensure compliance with development methodologies and risk controls.

Key Requirements:

Proven track record delivering modern, responsive web applications in a leadership or senior engineering role.
Strong hands-on experience with React.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors such as SASS or Less.
Experience working on pixel-perfect UI, responsive design for desktop and mobile, and adherence to accessibility and cross-browser standards.
Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks, including Jest and React Testing Library.
Experience managing version control with Git and working in IDEs such as VSCode or IntelliJ.
Solid understanding of JSON and XML for data marshalling/de-marshalling.

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of Node.js and Express for backend integration.
Experience in onboarding/banking applications or digital product design in the financial domain.
Understanding of lean, pragmatic development principles in Agile environments.
