Job Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at STX Next, where your expertise in SQL will take center stage. If you thrive on transforming messy data into actionable insights, have a strong analytical mindset, and excel at data modeling, this role is for you. As a Data Analyst, you’ll leverage your advanced SQL skills to query, analyze, and model complex datasets, driving impactful business decisions. Responsibilities

• Creating and optimizing SQL queries to analyze data and generate reports that support business decisions
• Analyzing large datasets in Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery, for reporting and visualization purposes
• Collaborating with data engineering teams on preparing and transforming data using dbt to support analysis and dashboard creation
• Automating simple analytical processes in a cloud environment using Cloud Functions
• Utilizing data integrated from multiple sources (e.g., via Airbyte) to conduct comprehensive analyses
• Conducting advanced data analysis and creating visualizations using Python and the pandas library
• Monitoring data availability (e.g., using PagerDuty) to ensure reliability and continuity of analytical processes
  
  

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Proficiency in using BigQuery within GCP for analyzing large datasets and generating insights
• Familiarity with dbt to prepare and transform data for analytical purposes
• Basic understanding of data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) to collaborate with data engineering teams for data access
• Proficiency in Python and libraries like pandas for data analysis, manipulation, and visualization
