The Network Units Administrator ensures the reliable operation, maintenance, and security of an organization’s network systems. This role involves configuring hardware, optimizing network performance, and troubleshooting issues while adhering to high standards of security and compliance.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- đź”§ Network Management Configure, deploy, and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls). Monitor and optimize network performance for high reliability. Implement enhancements and ensure seamless network operations.
- 🛡️ Security and Compliance Develop and enforce network security protocols. Monitor for vulnerabilities and address security incidents promptly. Ensure adherence to compliance standards and organizational policies.
- 🛠️ Troubleshooting and Support Provide Level 2/3 support for network-related issues. Collaborate with IT teams to diagnose and resolve connectivity problems. Liaise with external vendors for technical support when required.
- đź“‹ Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed records of configurations, updates, and maintenance tasks. Generate performance reports and log critical incidents.
- 🤝 Collaboration and Training Work with cross-functional teams to support network needs for various projects. Train and mentor junior team members or users on best practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in network administration or similar roles. Proficiency with networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
- Potential travel to remote sites for support.
