  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience developing and launching/landing front-end consumer features and working with UX and UX Researcher to define user-facing product requirements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing mobile consumer products and technologies.
  • Understanding of short-form video creation tools within popular platforms and mobile video editing tools like non-linear editors.
  • Ability to get the data you need and morph it into an insightful story without any help.
  • Ability to use data to make decisions without getting stuck.

YouTube’s mission is to represent everyone and show them the world. This role empowers creators to express themselves through YouTube Shorts. This role is focused on improving and innovating Shorts Templates, which provide users with creative tools that help them recreate a Short that inspires them. You will define a strategy and roadmap for templates, launch and analyze experiments and drive towards our product goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on defining the product outlook, strategy and roadmap for Shorts Templates.
  • Understand markets, competition, and user requirements in depth.
  • Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Legal, UX, and other teams on technologies. This will include crafting Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), collaborating with UX/Researcher, Engineering, and Communications.
  • Develop solutions to problems by collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.
