Frontend Developer

About the role

A Senior User Interface Developer is required to support the delivery of digital customer-facing services across multiple channels. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering connected and accessible digital experiences.

The position involves designing, developing, and maintaining user interface components using modern front-end technologies. The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile team to develop customer-centric web solutions, contribute to UI design and testing activities, and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on project deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Develop user interface solutions using HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Support UI analysis and design activities including concept design, test strategies, and user acceptance studies.
• Provide advice to stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business requirements and delivery environments.
• Encourage team communication and support business improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience developing and maintaining customer-focused web applications in Agile environments.
• Experience analysing business requirements and delivering appropriate UI solutions.
• Demonstrated involvement in planning, design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
• Strong skills in:
• HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript
• JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, Angular.IO, React, Vue.js)
• Node.js
• jQuery, Bootstrap 4+, Git

Highly Desirable

• Experience with:
• Build tools (e.g. NPM, Gulp, Webpack, Vite)
• Testing frameworks (e.g. Jasmine, Jest, Selenium, Cypress)
• REST API integration
• SQL
• Storybook, Chromatic

Desirable

• Experience with Squiz Matrix and/or form.io.
• Familiarity with the Single Web Experience (SWE) framework and government design systems.
