IT Developer Java

Nexeo Belgium is looking for a Java Developer – Backend Engineer to support strategic initiatives within a highly visible digital tribe of a major banking institution.

As a Java Developer, you will:

• Contribute to the evolution of digital banking applications used by thousands of customers across multiple brands and channels
• Design, build, and maintain high-quality Java backend services and applications within an Agile squad.
• Modernize legacy applications and participate in integration projects with third-party insurance providers.
• Ensure code quality and reliability through best development practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Collaborate closely with other team members to deliver new functionalities and continuously improve the application landscape.

Your profile:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in backend Java development.
• Fluent in English. French or Dutch is a strong plus.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring, Maven, REST APIs, and Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git (GitLab), Jenkins, SonarQube, and NexusIQ.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and continuous integration/deployment principles.

You have:

• A true Agile mindset: collaborative, pragmatic, and feedback-driven.
• Solid understanding of software craftsmanship, including SOLID principles, OOP, and clean code practices.
• Practical experience with TDD, pair programming, and automated testing.
• A proactive attitude, with a strong desire to share knowledge and learn continuously.
• The ability to challenge business requirements and propose high-impact solutions.
